Student Kitchen Kit

Each week we may be using slightly different kitchen tools, and it may be necessary to bring some items from home. Ask your mom or dad if you can borrow that tool (such as a grater, collander etc.). Be sure to remember to return it washed and dried to the place you took it from.

Some tools we will need every week and it will be easier if each student has a kit to keep for their class.

Below is a list of items that we'll be using. You don't need to purchase all of these items. You can borrow them from your parents' kitchen and return at the end of the semester, or search thrift stores and yard sales for cheap used items.


Plastic bin with lid (for storage)

Essentials:

Wooden spoons
*Spatula
Fork and Soup or Dessert Spoon
*Measuring spoons
*Apron
Mixing Bowl
Grater
Cutting Board
*Sharp Knife
Metal Whisk

Extras: 

Teaspoons (2 or 3 for tasting and mixing)
Glass measuring jug (ei. Pyrex style)
Cake tins (8 or 9 inch)
Large cake tin (9x13 glass or metal)
Muffin tin (dozen size)
Small bowls
Large Mixing bowls
Handmixer (electric)

Dishtowels
Potholders
Cooling racks
Plastic ziploc bags
Containers with lids for food storage
